The Byron Report published today has suggested that all Uk video games for Playstation, PC and Xbox carry an age certification sticker similar to those found on DVDs.

Many people in the industry are concerned that too many young children are being exposed to unnecessary sex and violence in video games and part of the problem is that parents are unaware of the content in these video games. The Bryon Report was commissioned by the British Government last year and has been produced by Dr Tanya Bryon who is best known as a television child psychology on programs such as the BBC3’s “Little Angels” and the reality show “House of Tiny Tearaways”.

It is hoped The Bryon Report will aid parents in choosing the right video game for their children and there is also the recommendation of very stiff penalties for those retailers who ignore the certifications and sell to under age children.
